    Petke, Arthur O. (12 AUG 1915 - 30 NOV 2002)

    Arthur O. Petke, 87, Withee, Clark County, Wis., died on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee. The Rev. Thomas Myhre officiated. Inurnment was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers were Arthur Petke III, Cletus Bowe, Greg Albers, Dennis Djubenski, Jeff Greschner and Mike Greschner.

    Arthur O. Petke was born on Aug. 12, 1915, in Clark County, to Edward and Emelia (nee Netzel) Petke. He married Alice Meinhardt on Sept. 3, 1940. He farmed in the town of Longwood, did custom farm work, and drove truck for Bowen Trucking. His interests included hunting, girls basketball games, wrestling, dancing and singing in St. John’s Lutheran Church choir.

    Survivors include one daughter, Arlene (Clayton) Bowe, Withee; one son, Arthur (Kathy) Petke Jr., Withee; four grand-children; six great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Tillie Knopple, California, Gertrude Rohland, Withee, Elsie Gosse, Golden, Colo., and Ruth (Art) Jankee, Owen.

    Preceding him in death were his wife, Alice, in February 1992; his parents; one sister, in infancy; and five brothers, Fred Petke, Otto Petke, Walter Petke, Ray Petke and Ted Petke.

    Maurina Funeral Service, Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
