3 | Magda's daughter Anna Rzepka was born 1 July 1905 in Chicago. Her father died when she was 1 year old, and she lived in Krauszow most of her life. She married Franciszek Sojka on 21 Aug 1928 in Ludzmierz. Anna spent some time in Chicago living with her aunt Victoria in the 1920's before she was married. She was probably working for a few years in America just like her mother had done, making money for her future. She also posed for some photographs with her aunts and cousins in Chicago (Photo 3 and Photo 8). Anna and Franciszek had 5 children: Franciszek, Joseph, Anna, Bronislaw, and Aniela. Tue., 16 Nov. 2004 -----------Wunrow, Grace Ann (2 Oct. 1927 - 14 Nov. 2004) Grace Ann Wunrow, 77, of 7750 Deer Lane, town of Saratoga, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 14, 2004, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards after a year-long battle with cancer. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Mark Drengler and Bill Loock will officiate. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum. Grace was born on Oct. 2, 1927, in Thorp, to Joseph and Lucille (Ceglarek) Trybula. She married Victor Griebel on Sept. 14, 1946, and the marriage ended in divorce on June 19, 1953. She married Raymond Wunrow on Feb. 19, 1955. She drove cars for area dealers with her husband Ray. She also had been a cashier at County Market, was assistant manager of Campbells Clothes "N" Things in Wisconsin Rapids and worked at City Newsstand in Wisconsin Rapids, as well as having various other jobs in the Wisconsin Rapids area and Marshfield. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Post 2534 Auxiliary and the Roadrunners clogging group. She enjoyed clogging, polka dancing, fishing and reading. Survivors include her husband, Raymond; one son, David Griebel of Marshfield; one daughter, Shirley (Mike) Stensberg of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren, Vicky (Scott) Havlicek of Neillsville and Greg (Stacy) Griebel of Marshfield; three step-grandchildren, Melissa, Chelsea and Alex Stensberg of Wisconsin Rapids; two great-grandchildren, Kala and Austen Griebel of Marshfield; and one sister, Gertrude (Clarence) Kotecki of Abbotsford. She was born in Poland on Jan. 15th, 1860. She came to this country about forty-two years ago and resided on a farm near Thorp, Wis. with her husband Joseph, who passed away July 24, 1927. 13 | ---------Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 05/18/1922 --------- Bonczyk, Michael (? - 14 MAY 1922) Mrs. Michael Bonczyk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Konieczny, of the town of Withee, Clark County, Wis., died at the hospital at Chippewa Falls on Sunday, May 14th, 1922, after an illness of several weeks with pneumonia. Her husband died about four years ago, since which time she carried on her farm in the town of Withee with some assistance from relatives. Threee small children, two boys and one girl, are thus left orphans. 15 | ---------Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 06/29/1922 --------- Arendt, Constance (21 JUN 1922) On Wednesday morning, June 21st, 1922, the marriage of Miss Constance Arendt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Val Arendt and Mr. Anton Kotecki, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Kotecki, took place at St. Hedwig's Church, Father F. Kulig officiating the ceremony, being followed by high mass. The bride carried a bouquet of roses and was attended by her sister, Miss Lottie Arendt and Miss Constance Kotecki, sister of the groom. The groom's attendants were his brother, Mr. Frank Kotecki as best man and Steven Arendt, brother of the bride. After the services relatives and friends of the newlyweds repaired to the home of the bride's parents where a sumptuous dinner was served and the afternoon and evening enjoyed in social intercourse. Mr. Kotecki, who is the efficient mail carrier on Route No. 2 from the local post office, and his bride are well and favorably known in the community (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) and their hosts of friends wish them a future of man years of wedded happiness and prosperity. | Family (F534)

Mr. Bonczyk was a progressive young farmer and enjoyed a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Deceased was chairman of the town board of supervisors of the town of Withee, in which capacity he made an excellent record for efficiency in expediting public work. He had reached the age of twenty-nine years and leaves to mourn, his wife and three small children. 19 | ---------Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 11/23/1916 --------- Kotecki, Garfield (1 MAR 1892 - 16 NOV 1916) Garfield Kotecki, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kotecki, of the town of Withee, Clark County, Wis., died at the home of his parents in that town at an early hour on Thursday morning last. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on March 1, 1892, and came here two years later with his parents. In 1914 he purchased the James Connor saloon, which he conducted since. On Monday of last week he suffered a hemorrhage of the lungs. Not in robust health owing to asthma trouble he was considerably weakened and was taken to his home in the town of Withee. For a couple of days his condition seemed to improve but another hemorrhage resulted quickly in the end. The fuenral, which was largely attended, took place from St. Hedwig's Church on Saturday morning, Father Pudlo officiating. Deceased was born in Poland on Sept. 1, 1866 and had reached the age of 63 years, 2 months and 21 days. Tumor of the liver caused her ailment which resulted in her death. She leaves to mourn, her husband, Lawrence Kotecki, three sons, Anton Frank and Harry, and three daughters, Mrs. M. Krakowiecki of Gilman, Celia and Christina at home and one sister, Mrs. Adam Kulik. Wed, Dec 29, 2004 ----Kotecki, Clarence (23 Sept. 1928 - 28 Dec. 2004) ABBOTSFORD -Clarence Kotecki, 76, of Abbotsford, formerly of Riplinger, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in the Emergency Room of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Clarence was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Thorp to Frank and Vernie (Przybylski) Kotecki. He entered the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He married Gertrude Trybula on Nov. 17, 1952. The couple farmed in the Riplinger area until 2003. He also worked at the Riplinger Box Factory and as a milk inspector. He married Marion Oberle June 14, 1949, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. He farmed in the Stanley area until 1956. At that time, he moved to the town of Withee, rural Thorp, and farmed there until 1986. He then became a resident of the city of Thorp. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp, WI with Father Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial will follow at the New St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1 from 4-8p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary being recited. Pallbearers will be the grandsons: Jesse Gutowski, Scott Brazil, Marty Hendricks, David Soborowicz, Ray Gutowski and Dennis Schmidt. Charles was born in the Town of Thorp, Clark County, WI on March 3, 1909, the son of Anton and Veronika (Kzowjok) Gutowski. He grew up in the Junction area and attended area schools. He was united in marriage to Bernice Szczech on July 2, 1932. They moved to the Reseburg area in 1946 and farmed there until their retirement. Charles moved to Stanley in 1975 and later in 2003 moved to Thorp where he has resided since. While farming in Reseburg he served on the Town Board and during his retirement years enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He is survived by his children: Chuck of Stevens Point, WI; Ray (Rose) and Joan (Cliff) Schmidt both of Thorp, WI; Teri (Dick) Hendricks of Ladysmith, WI; Mary (Bud) Krie of Fall Creek, WI; Joe of Chippewa Falls, WI; Rose of Lucerne Valley, CA; Andy of Keil, WI; Geri (Dave) Brazil of Sunrise, AZ and Nancy (Steve) McGuire of Beaumont, CA; 35 grandkids and 32 great-grandchildren. October 4, 2005 ----Slowiak, Sally (March 3, 1918 - April 23, 2005) Sally Slowiak, age 87, lifelong Stanley area resident, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2005 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Stanley, WI. A Christian Burial Mass was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Robert Nelson officiating. Burial followed in the St. Mary’s Czestochowa Cemetery, Town of Thorp, WI. Friends and family called on Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary being recited. Sally was born March 3, 1918 in Lexington Township, MN, the daughter of John and Mary (Skwieralski) Blasczyk. At a young age she and her family moved to the Town of Taft, Clark County, WI where she grew up and attended area rural schools. She was united in marriage to Alex Slowiak on May 28, 1938 at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Catholic Church in Junction, Town of Thorp. They lived and farmed in the Junction area until 1983 when they moved into Stanley and have resided there since. While on the farm she enjoyed raising her chickens and then later was an avid collector of chicken memorabilia. She also spent many hours embroidering dishtowels, tablecloths and quilt blocks for all of the family members. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Czestochowa Catholic Church and then later Holy Family Catholic Church and was a member of the PCCW, St. Jude’s Circle and the County Line Women’s Club. She is survived by her children Paul (Barb) Slowiak of Chippewa Falls, WI, Mary (Clarence) Fitzsimmons of Stanley, WI, Don (Betty) Slowiak of Wood Dale, IL, Jerry (Pat) Slowiak of Thorp, WI, Ken (Barb) Slowiak, and Roger (Deb) Slowiak of Stanley, WI; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law Kathy Slowiak of Eagle River, WI. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alex in 1988, on son, Tom Slowiak and 10 brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be donated to the Boyd-Stanley Catholic Schools and the Stanley Historical Society.
