    A heart attack at about noon on Monday proved fatal to Kristian Just Ammenthorp, a farmer, residing two and one quarter miles south of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), shortly after he had left the field in which he had been working.

    Mr. Ammenthorp, who was 65 years and 9 months of age, came with his wife from Denmark, twenty-eight years ago and settled on the farm on which he resided at the time of his death, and in this time has developed one of the finest farms in northern Clark County. For some time past he had not been in the best of health, but he believed that with treatment he would be alright again.

    Mr. and Mrs. Ammenthorp were pioneer residents of the town of Longwood, and for many years he was helpful in the upbuilding of the town, at times holding office. He was considered one of the leading farmers in the vicinity and his farm was a show place to many who were seeking settlement in this vicinity.

    Funeral services were conducted this afternoon from the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee at two o’clock, with Rev. Mickelsen officiating, and burial taking place in the Danish Cemetery.

    Besides his widow, he leaves to mourn, three sons, George of Eau Claire, Emil of Wausau, and Olaf of West Allis, Wis., one daughter, Marie, besides one brother, Fred, who farm adjoins his.

    Amy LaVerna Ammentorp Mauel, age 95, of Owen, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, surrounded by her family under the tender care of Promedica Hospice.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 415 West Third Street, Owen, WI, with Father Father Stanislaus Michael Antony officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen the evening prior, Friday, April 14, 2023. The visitation on Friday will have a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday and again on Saturday, April 15, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A live stream will be available for those unable to attend on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website.
    Amy was born on May 6, 1927 on a farm south of Withee, WI to Evald & Caroline Ammentorp. She was baptized and confirmed at the Danish Lutheran Church in Withee. She attended Moody School and graduated from Withee High School in 1944. She then attended Eau Claire business school for one year where she learned secretarial skills including bookkeeping. Amy was married to Henry Mauel Jr. on June 2, 1950 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They were active members of Holy Rosary for the rest of their lives. Henry and Amy were happily married for 61 years and blessed with 14 children. In 1957, they built their home in a new neighborhood in Owen. Amy lived in that home until her death on April 10, 2023 where she was surrounded by her children.
    In 1960, Hank & Amy took over Mauel’s Dairy from his parents and built a new plant on Highway X. Amy took over the bookkeeping and worked from home until the youngest girls went to school. Amy was also active in the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She joined Bridge Club shortly after she married and played for the next 70 years. After the kids were older, she joined golf and bowling teams.
    Amy’s priority was her family. As the middle child of a family of 7, she always enjoyed taking care of her younger brothers. As a Mom, she encouraged children to be involved in summer programs and activities. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and concerts and encouraged all her children to attend college or vocational school. She continued supporting her 25 grandchildren and attended all their special events. She loved cooking for everyone and spending holidays together.
    Amy was proceeded in death by her husband Hank, her son Bob, her parents Evald & Caroline, her brother Roy (Marian) Ammentorp, Sisters: Ruth (Roger) Wolfram, Marian (Hank) Haas, her sister-in-laws: Shirley Ammentorp, and Barb Ammentorp.
    She is survived by her children: Bill (Mary Kay) Mauel from Eagle Lake, MN, Pete (Terri) Mauel from Berlin, Tom Mauel from Owen, Carol (Les) Wickboldt from Clayton, Linda (John) Burgan from Grafton, Sue German from Marshfield, John Mauel from Owen, Jim Mauel from Owen, Ann (Kevin) Miner from Clear Lake, Mike (Karrie) Mauel from Kimberly, Mark Mauel from Green Bay, Nancy (Jeff) Taylor from Colfax, and Julie (Gerard) Bush from Scottsdale, AZ, Brothers: Ray, Jim, & Marvin (Ruth) Ammentorp, 25 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
    The family would like to thank Promedic Hospice for their care and guidance. A very special Thank You to Sharon Laube Scheinost, and Barb Lehnen Issacs for their wonderful care. Amy was thankful for all her children and grandchildren who helped her stay in her own home until her death, especially John & Jim.

    LAKEVIEW, Minn. - Dorothy Erma Telin, 80, of Lakeville, Minn., formerly of the Marshfield area, died Aug. 1, 2005, at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville, Minn.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lakeville. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home in Lakeville and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
    She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Withee to Thorvald and Clara Ammentorp. She married Eric Telin on Sept. 9, 1944, in Withee and he predeceased her. Dorothy had been a homemaker.
    Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Stephen) Slaby and Barbara (Dennis Burke) Ericksmoen; sons, Lee (Lynn) Telin and Todd (Linda) Telin; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters, Ellen Zwieholfor, Phyllis (Frank) Konieczny, Richard (Gerry) Ammentorp, Vernon (Nancy) Ammentorp, Fred (Joyce) Ammentorp and Helen (Robert) Hart.

    Phyllis Arline Konieczny, 95, passed away peacefully at Turner Integrity Care in Thorp on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

    A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Elizabeth Bier will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Lunch and fellowship will follow at the Thorp American Legion Hall.
    Phyllis was born on June 22, 1926, the daughter of Thorvald and Clara (Lang) Ammentorp in the Town of Longwood. She was one of nine children and completed High School in Withee. Phyllis was united in marriage to Frank Konieczny on June 16, 1945, at Nazareth Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2011.
    In addition to being a farm wife, Phyllis worked first at Presto Industries of Eau Claire making artillery shells for the war. She then went to work at Clark County Health and Rehabilitation as a housekeeper and then a laundry aide. As a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, she often helped make quilts for the needy and worked many church dinners. Phyllis enjoyed sewing, making clothes, but also was famous for her numerous beautiful quilts. She also mastered woodworking and wood carving and had an excellent eye for detail. She loved her family and all the gatherings consisted of an abundance of food prepared by Phyllis. Phyllis and Frank enjoyed traveling in their motor home and playing cards with friends and family. She always had a smile and a sassy wit and will be missed by all.

    Phyllis is lovingly survived by her six children: Roger Konieczny (Jean), Sharon Maier, Dave (Chris) Konieczny, Ginny (Pat) Frinack, Paul (Chris) Konieczny and Carol (Dennis) Kuehnhold; 19 grandchildren: Sandy (Kevin) Comstock, Jeff (Jackie) Konieczny, Wesley Konieczny, Missy (Jim) Lucas, Scott (Beth) Maier, Brad (Sharon) Maier, Nick (Sara) Maier, Michele (Brian) Doberstein, Lisa (Bill) Peterson, Sarah (Kevin) Gornicke, Heidi (Jason) Baka, Jason (Jody) Frinack, Mike (Alisa) Finack, Craig (Autumn) Frinack, Blake (Carly) Konieczny, Troy (Courtney) Konieczny, Lee (Sara) Copenhaver, Jake (Jesse) Copenhaver and Kelsey (Jeff) Kuehnhold; 33 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Shawna, Johnny, Mckenzie (Michael), Ryan (Erin), Becca, Kyle, Lexie, Ashley, Jeremy, Nicholas, Brady, Jenna, Megan, Ethan, Ava, Travis, Mitchell, Taylor, Derek, Brooklyn, Saphiya, Logan, Harper, Paige, Sophia, Bryce, Ava, Aubrey, Myles, Ryker, Mason and Lila; and a great-great-grandson, Paxtyn.
