Bernice G. Potaczek, age 76, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at her home under hospice care. Bernice was born May 30, 1937, in Holcombe, WI, to the late Bernard and Gladys Smalley. Bernice was married to the Late Alois Potaczek in 1959. They built the Tomahawk Race Track in 1960 and later owned and operated the Tomahawk Salvage Yard for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Bernice loved the Green Bay Packers, Nascar, watching CMT and listening to country music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, especially Logan, and her two special friends, Milt and Bill. A special thank you to her great-granddaughter, Paige, for all of her care and love in her final days. Survivors include her 3 Sons, Bernard and Brian Potaczek, both of Tomahawk, and Peter Potaczek of Black River Falls, WI. 4 Daughters, Vicki (Howie) Krahn of Gleason, WI; Antoinette “Nette” Potaczek of Tomahawk; Beverly (Mark Lange) Zietlow of Tomahawk, and Pamela (Rick) Haase also of Tomahawk. 3 Sisters, Veronica Smalley and Helen Penry both of North Bend, WA, and Cheryl Worley of Hot Springs, MT. 2 Brothers, Roger Smalley of Lyman, WA, and Earl Smalley, of Cornell, WI. She is further survived by 14 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her Husband, Alois; Daughter, Doreen Seymour; 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters and 4 Great-Grandsons, Evan, Hayden, Traighton, and Todd Franson, Jr. Memorial services for Bernice will be held Tuesday, August 27, at 6:30 P.M., from Generations Funeral Home. Father John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:30 P.M. until the hour of service at 6:30 P.M.
