Konieczny November 24, 1879 - May 3, 1978 Thorp - Frank G. Konieczny, 98, died Tuesday at Thorp Care Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lublin, the Rev. Stephen Krawiec officiating. Burial will be in Lublin. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Thorp Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 8 tonight. Mr. Konieczny was born Nov. 24, 1879 in Poznan, Poland, and came to the United States in 1886. He married Sophia Haider Sept. 30, 1914 in Minneapolis. They moved to Thorp in 1919. He served on the board of directors for Lombard Dairy and the Pineland School Board. He was a farmer, retiring in 1949. Surviving are four sons, Tom of Menasha, Frank, Thorp, Stanley of Withee, and George of Marshfield; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Rohland and Mrs. Otto (Agnes) Rohland, both of Withee; one sister, Mrs. Sophie Thorpe, Minneapolis; 27 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceases by his wife in 1956, two brothers, five sisters, one son, and one grandson. Pallbearers were Dennis Rohland, Roger Konieczny, Jerrold Rohland, and Lean, Ronald, and David Konieczny.
