638 | Peggy Rebecca Apostolos CA United States APOSTOLOS, Peggy Rebecca Sept 10, 1924 - Jan 1, 2008 A longtime Roseville resident, Peggy Apostolos died at home after a long illness. She was 83. Peggy was born in Salina, Utah, to James and Jeanie Aceves. Her family settled in Santa Barbara, Calif. While in Santa Barbara at a U.S.O. Social, she met and fell in love with Tommy Apostolos, a Marine stationed at nearby Goleta. They wed on August 18, 1944, and settled in Tommy's hometown of Roseville. Peggy loved Roseville. Early in her marriage, she worked part time at the Dainty Pastry shop, while raising a family. Peggy was an excellent cook, specializing in her homemade enchiladas, and her kitchen would be the gathering place for family and friends. When her husband died in 1988, a memorial fund was established in his honor. This created a new passion in Peggy's life. Annually, local children are clothed with the help of this fund. Peggy was so thankful for all the contributions in Tommy's name, as it approached its 20th year. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Tommy; her son T.J.; both parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Peggy is survived by her children and their spouses: Rick Apostolos; Mona and Dan Schott; John and Leslie Apostolos; Sheri and Mike Dyckhoff; her sister Phyllis Pommier; brother Ralph Aceves; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Inurnment will be private. All are welcome to a "Celebration of Life" to be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Peggy's Roseville residence from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Bring pictures to share. Mass intentions will be observed on January 26 at St. Clare's in Roseville at 5:30 p.m. and February 23 at St. Rose at 5:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Tommy Apostolos Fund, c/o Surewest, P.O. Box 969, Roseville, CA 95678.
