    Gregory A. “Pruitt” Kotecki, 56, of Eau Claire, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

    Greg was born on August 26, 1960, in Stanley, to Frank and Stephanie (Szczech) Kotecki. He grew up in Altoona and attended school at St. Mary’s, St. Patrick’s, and graduated with the Class of 1978, from Regis High School. On May 23, 1981, Greg married his high school sweetheart, Jami Bridges. Together they lived in Eau Claire for most of their married life and he was employed at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery for over forty years.

    Greg enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, was a passionate fisherman, and was Lake Altoona’s unofficial fishing guide. He was also a life-long Brewers and Packers fan, and loved the challenge of a tough jigsaw puzzle. He always had an answer for questions from car repair, to food safety, to home improvement. He will be remembered for his work ethic, fish fries, boundless generosity, and late night sweet tooth. The next time you hit the water, cast your line in his honor.

    The family would like to thank the doctors and the nursing staff who cared for Greg so compassionately at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital.

    Greg is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jami; three children, Andrew (Kimberly) Kotecki, Nicholas (Teresa Kasper) Kotecki and Megan (Ty) Fadness; four grandsons, Liam Kotecki and his brother on the way, and J.J. and Crosby Fadness; parents, Frank and Stephanie Kotecki; two brothers, Don (Roberta) Kotecki and Brian (Tracy) Kotecki; nieces, nephews, other relatives, his Perkins family and countless friends.

    He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Vernie Kotecki; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Bernice Szczech; and parents-in-law, Peter and Beverly Bridges.

    Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St. in Eau Claire with Father Paul Hoffman officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.

    Stephanie V. Kotecki, 81, of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

    She was born May 6, 1939 in Stanley, WI to Joseph and Bernice (Symbol) Szczech. She is a 1957 graduate of Thorp High School. She married her best friend Frank Kotecki on August 22, 1959 in Thorp. Frank survives.

    Stephanie is further survived by two sons, Don (Roberta) of Chippewa Falls, Brian (Tracy) of Oak Creek; Daughter in Law, Jami of Eau Claire; ten wonderful grandchildren, Andrew (Kimberly), Nicholas (Theresa), Megan (Ty) Fadness, Danielle (Chad), Dylan (Payton), Dayna (Jake), Sydny (Trevor), Cole (Lucy), Kyle and Zac; five great grandchildren, Liam and Markus Kotecki, JJ, Crosby and Baylor Fadness; three step grandchildren, Nick (Suellen), Jenna (Johnny), Jake Jenneman; three sisters, Joanne (George) Konieczny, Carol (John) Szymanski and Mary Boh; sister in law Mona Szczech and many nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, son Gregory, brothers Frank and Joseph, brother in law Bill Boh.

    Stephanie worked for Reserve Life Insurance in Eau Claire and in 1979 went to work for the State of Wisconsin in the Unemployment Compensation Division. She retired from there in 1998.

    She enjoyed sewing, crafting, baking and decorating wedding cakes, camping, polka dancing, gardening, fishing, cooking, canning, traveling and spending time down south.

    She was proud of her sons and the work ethic she instilled in them all.

    Stephanie was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Eau Claire.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday July 13, 2020 at Chippewa Valley Cremation Services – Celebration of Life Center, 1717 Devney Drive, Altoona (behind Charter Spectrum.) Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The service will be live streamed on the Chippewa Valley Cremation Services Facebook Page.

    Memorial donations in honor of Stephanie can be given to a charity or organization of the donor’s choice.

    Peter L. Bridges, 83, of Eau Claire, crossed over on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Dove Health Care and Rehabilitation under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice, with his family by his side.

    He was born in Shawtown on March 19, 1929, to Benjamin and Ella (Yort) Bridges. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School with the class of 1948. Peter married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Bennett, on October 21, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. They enjoyed many years of dancing together.

    Pete worked for 42 years at Sterling Pulp and Paper Company. He and Bev raised their family in Altoona, where they lived for 32 years. After retiring in 1991, Pete and Bev moved to Silver Lake in Trego, WI, where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Due to health issues, after 11 years on the lake, Pete and Bev returned to the Eau Claire area.

    Pete was very active in St. Mary's Parish in Altoona, and also was a trustee at St. Mary's Parish of Minong. He was also an active leader of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 99 of Altoona, where he achieved the Order of the Arrow.

    Pete is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly; children, Randy Bridges of Altoona, Vicki (Barry) Rice of Colfax, Mark (Nancy) Bridges of Eau Claire, Jami (Greg) Kotecki of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Kalina, Christopher, Kaycee, Kaitlin and Amanda Bridges and Andy (Kim), Nick and Megan Kotecki; two great-grandchildren, Liam Kotecki and Emma Kalina; two sisters, Rita and Beattie; two brothers, Ben (Ruth) and Jerry (Jean); sister-in-law, Eileen, and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his infant great-grandson, Wyatt; parents; six siblings, Louise, Catherine, Patricia, Marion, Beverly and Tom.

    Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., in Eau Claire with Deacon Robert Chittendon officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Resurrection Mausoleum, in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church on Wednesday.

    The family would like to thank the staff at Dove South and St. Joseph's Hospice for their loving care.

    Memorials may be directed to St. Olaf's Catholic Church.
