Mr. Szczech was an Army Airforce veteran of World War II. He was the former owner of Wrightwood Foods in Chicago. He was the husband of the late Alice Szczech (nee Banaszak); father of Cynthia (Martin) Warmowski, of Ingleside, Stephen M. Szczech, of Downers Grove and Michael (Wendy) Szczech, of South Carolina; grandfather of Matthew, Jennifer, Allison, and Michelle Warmowski, of Ingleside and Emily Szczech, of South Carolina; brother of Anne (Felix) Tokarz, of Grand Haven, Mich., John (Joyce) Szczech, of California, Joseph (Irene) Szczech and Henry (Loretta) Szczech, both of Chicago and the late Rose Michalak; and uncle of many.
