Theodore Ted Symbal, age 79, longtime town of Thorp, Junction area resident, passed away on April 22, 2006, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, Wis.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Czestochowa Catholic Church, rural Stanley, Wis., with Fr. Keith Apfelbeck officiating.
Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the church.
Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ted was born on September 9, 1926, in the town of Thorp, the son of Michael & Anna (Slowiak) Symbal. He grew up in the town of Thorp and attended White Eagle School. He was united in marriage to Bernice Potaczek on May 30, 1953, at St. Marys Czestochowa Catholic Church. He resided and farmed in the town of Thorp all of his life. He was also the supervisor and patrol operator for the town of Thorp and was an active member of St. Marys Czestochowa Catholic Church, where he was on the parish council. In his spare time he loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing.
Ted is survived by his wife, Bernice of Stanley, Wis.; children, Duane (Laurie) Symbal of Turtle Lake, Wis., Lillian (Steve) Repnyek of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Pauline Knutson of New Auburn, Wis., Julian (Sindi) Symbal of Stanley, Wis., Julie (Tim) VanSlambrouck of Thorp, Wis., Candice (Jim) Ciolkosz of Cadott, Wis., and Thomas (Mindi) Symbal of Stanley, Wis.; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise (Leo) Skaja and Agnes (Ed) Sado, both of Chicago, Ill., and Regina (Pete) Smoczyk of Stanley, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe (Terry) Symbal & Louis (Georgianna) Symbal; and two sisters, Helen (Ben) Gutowski, Rose (Dick) Fuka.
