Deceased Name: Matthew R. Szczech

Services for Matthew R. Szczech, of Ingleside and formerly of Chicago, will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake (in the chapel on the lake), then at St. Bede Catholic Church, Ingleside.

Interment will be in St. Adalberts Cemetery.

Mr. Szczech was an Army Airforce veteran of World War II. He was the former owner of Wrightwood Foods in Chicago.

He was the husband of the late Alice Szczech (nee Banaszak); father of Cynthia (Martin) Warmowski, of Ingleside, Stephen M. Szczech, of Downers Grove and Michael (Wendy) Szczech, of South Carolina; grandfather of Matthew, Jennifer, Allison, and Michelle Warmowski, of Ingleside and Emily Szczech, of South Carolina; brother of Anne (Felix) Tokarz, of Grand Haven, Mich., John (Joyce) Szczech, of California, Joseph (Irene) Szczech and Henry (Loretta) Szczech, both of Chicago and the late Rose Michalak; and uncle of many.

Visitation was held Tuesday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife Anne.
Friends may meet the family from 3-5 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven, with a Rosary Service beginning at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Fr. Daniel DePew as celebrant. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 Honor Guard. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in honor of Felix may be given to St. Marys School.
