He enjoyed camping with family, chatting and reminiscing about being in the service, spending time with his grandchildren/great grandchildren, his Thursday night Social Club, and in his earlier years, he liked to hunt and fish.

    Adala A. "Tootie" Konieczny, 93, of Medford, passed away Thursday February 16, 2017 at Aspirus Care and Rehab Center in Medford. Adala was born March 19, 1923 in Hortonville, WI to Harold and Margaret (Lippert) Collar. She married Stanley Konieczny on September 30, 1950. Stanley passed away April 2, 2016. She is survived by her children: Kathleen (Bill) Semanko of Junction City, KS, Karen (Lee) Paul of Medford, Linda (Don) Horgen of Almena, Judy Bogdonovich of Stanley, and Daughter in Law Sally Konieczny of Owen, Brother Donald Collar of Neenah, 14 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild. She is further preceded in death by her son Ronnie Konieczny, siblings: Louis, Willard, Victor, Francis and Eugene, infant brother Carl and sister Marion. Adala loved spending time with those closest to her heart, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Brewers, spending time in her garden and traveling to different casinos. She also enjoyed the occasional glass or two of beer and wine. She took pleasure in traveling and taking trips to visit family. She loved music and played guitar and sang with her brothers. She spent most of her life at home raising her kids or working on the farm. She worked for a number of years at Master Package, in Owen, before retiring. Cremation rites have been accorded, a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Burial of cremated remains will take place at The Maplehurst Cemetery.     Frank G. Konieczny

    November 24, 1879 - May 3, 1978

    Thorp - Frank G. Konieczny, 98, died Tuesday at Thorp Care Center.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lublin, the Rev. Stephen Krawiec officiating. Burial will be in Lublin.

    Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Thorp Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.

    Mr. Konieczny was born Nov. 24, 1879 in Poznan, Poland, and came to the United States in 1886. He married Sophia Haider Sept. 30, 1914 in Minneapolis. They moved to Thorp in 1919.

    He served on the board of directors for Lombard Dairy and the Pineland School Board. He was a farmer, retiring in 1949.

    Surviving are four sons, Tom of Menasha, Frank, Thorp, Stanley of Withee, and George of Marshfield; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Rohland and Mrs. Otto (Agnes) Rohland, both of Withee; one sister, Mrs. Sophie Thorpe, Minneapolis; 27 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceases by his wife in 1956, two brothers, five sisters, one son, and one grandson.

    Pallbearers were Dennis Rohland, Roger Konieczny, Jerrold Rohland, and Lean, Ronald, and David Konieczny.

    Konieczny, Sophie (1893 - 1956)


    Mrs. Sophie Konieczny passed away at the Mount Washington Sanatorium at Eau Claire, Wis., on Tuesday, Jan. 31st, 1956, after a lingering illness.


    Sophie Haider was born in Poland on Dec. 14, 1893 and had reached the age of 62 years, 1 month and 17 days.


    She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Haider and came to America with her parents in 1896. She resided for 18 years in New Jersey and three years in Minneapolis before coming to Thorp, Clark County in 1917, and locating on a farm with her husband, Frank Konieczny, to whom she was united in marriage on Sept. 15, 1914 at Minneapolis.


    Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, Thomas of Menasha, Wis., Frank Jr. of Thorp, Stanley of Hortonville, Wis., and George of Milwaukee two daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Fred Rohland and Agnes, Mrs. Otto Rohland of Withee, Wis. one brother, Frank Haider of Minneapolis and one sister, Agnes, Mrs. Stanley Ormat of Wayzata, Minn.


    Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Polaszewski at St. Mary's Church at Lublin at 10 o'clock Friday morning, Feb. 3rd, interment following in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas, Frank, Stanley and George Konieczny and Fred and Otto Rohland.

    George Konieczny, aged 79 years and 10 months, died at the home of his son Joseph, in the town of Withee, Clark County, Wis., of bronchial pneumonia, on Monday, Jan. 27th, 1930, after an illness of eight days.

    Mr. Konieczny was born in Poland March 29, 1850. In 1877 he was united in marriage to Mary Mikoliwicz. Nine children blessed this union, six of whom survive. The couple arrived in America in 1880, spending about seven years in Pennsylvania and twelve years in St. Paul, and located in Thorp on a farm about thirty years ago.

    Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn, three sons, Frank and Joe of thorp and Michael of Denver, Colo., three daughters, Mrs. Joe Langiewicz of Thorp, and Mrs. Mary Lee and Miss Sophia Konieczny of Minneapolis, two step-brothers, Luke Stuk of New Brighton, Minn., and Simon Stuk of Iron River, Mich. Anton Haider of Minneapolis and all the children, excepting Michael of Colorado, were her to attend the funeral, which took place at St. Hedwig's Church on Wednesday of last week, Rev. F. A. Kulig officiating, interment following in the church cemetery.

    George married Mary Martha Niklewicz on 31 Aug 1878 (Civil) in Lubrze, Poland.     Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church here on July 9th for Mrs. Mary Konieczny, 91, who passed away at the General Hospital at Minneapolis on July 5th, 1949 of complication following a fracture hip.

    Mary Neklewicz was born Jan. 14, 1859 in Poznan, Poland. She was united in marriage there on Sept. 1, 1878 to George Konieczny, who with three daughters, preceded her in death.

    She came to America with her husband in 1886 and resided at St. Paul, coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1898. She had spent the past nineteen years with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee in Minneapolis.

    Surviving her are three sons, Frank and Joseph of Thorp, Mike of Denver, Colo., three daughters, Mrs. Mary lee and Mrs. Sophia R. Noren, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Joseph Lang of Thorp, twenty-three grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

    Burial was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, Frank, George, Victor and Ray Konieczny, Frank Bonczyk and Joseph H. Lee.
