Here the Debno record (2 pages!) - just the bottom entry.

It says that the date was 4 Nov 1838. Michael was a farmer from Lubrza and Margaritha lived in Pieczkow. Please note that she was indeed 14 - at least this is what the priest wrote. The names of witnesses are difficult to read, something like Valentinus Pindacz? and Adalbert Lisewski.

382 Mary “Reggie” Smoczyk, 89, formerly of Stanley, died on July 5th, 2017 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in Chippewa Falls. She was born on September 7, 1927 at her family home to the late Michael and Anna (Slowiak) Symbal. Reggie grew up in the Junction area and graduated from Stanley High in 1946. She married Peter Smoczyk on May 18, 1946 at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Catholic Church.

Grandma Reggie made many “one of a kind” birthday cakes for her Grandchildren over the years. Grandma’s extraordinary cake creations ranged from a tea pot with tea cups, a Lhasa Apso puppy, as well as too many doll and super hero cakes to count. Reggie’s family could always count on her to whip up their personal favorite meals when they were coming for a visit — all prepared with her loving touch.

She is survived by her beloved family and friends.

A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. July 8th at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Baskaran officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of departure to church Saturday morning at the Plombon Funeral Home with a 9 a.m. parish Rosary.

She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Mathilda loved baking, reading, writing, bingo, red roses and dancing, especially the polka. She was a sharp dresser and loved shopping for clothes.

She had a wonderful zest of life. She loved to go to the movies and eat shrimp at the Red Lobster. Mathilda and Lowell’s greatest joy was spending time together, watching Packer football games and the “Millionaire” game show. Mathildaresided at Mt. Washington in Eau Claire for the last 10 years.

Mathilda is survived by her husband, Lowell; four daughters, Sharon (Eugene) King of Brawley, Calif., Cynthia (late Dennis) Orbin, and her special friend Milton, of Madison, Marilyn (John) Todd of Brookfield, Ill., and Barb (Dave) Balliett of Augusta; three grandchildren, Alicia Todd, Harold King and Ray Luedtke; two step-grandchildren, Mitch Balliett and March Balliett; two brothers, Darwin and Rudy Kokolay; and two sisters, Ann Boh of Marshfield and Carolyn Feitl of LaGrange Park, Ill.
